“To my best of friends, my love and prayers will always be with you all.
He was truly an amazing man, and will always be remembered with love, a smile and eminence strength”
Ronnie was a one off;
Energetic, Unstoppable, Generous, sometimes maddening, but NEVER Boring.
I remember so well and with much love and affection, the time that I spent with Ronnie. Firstly in Israel during the early 60’s; I met him at his office in the El Al building in Rechov Allenby, he talked me into joining him in a crazy project to create a range of toiletries using the unique minerals from the Dead Sea. We called it “Lon Cosmetics”.
Unfortunately he tired of the project before we could really get it going (It was simply going too slow and he was impatient).
He then had his eyes set on going to the States, and persuaded his employers at the time, to allow him to set up an office in LA.
We stayed in touch; in late May 1967 I received a telephone call from him saying that rumours were rife that there was about to be a war with Egypt and other Arab countries, and with great sincerity and generosity he invited me and the family to come over to LA, where we would be safe.
I thanked him but turned down the offer. He then said that if things get really bad I could send my 2 kids. We stayed in touch.
At the end of the following year again he invited us to LA; (“No problem, you will get a job here immediately”!!).
This time I took him up on his offer and flew (alone) to LA, where I spent a short delightful time with him and Ora in their house in Van Nuys.
He introduced me to a Design group that were doing some work for him and I was offered a job on the spot.
Consequently I and my family spent a wonderful, interesting time in LA. All down to Ronnie.
My BELATED sincere condolences to Ora and the family.
with much love Mike
